Admissions - Post-Acceptance Requirements

Upon acceptance into the MS in AT Program, students will need to complete additional requirements that are important for full admission and completion of clinical education at EKU. Students will be prompted to complete EKU’s Graduate School application. All Graduate School Application procedures and a current list of required materials can be found on the Graduate School website (https://gradschool.eku.edu/). Application materials will include:

  • Graduate School Application
  • Graduate Application Fee (*unless a waiver is obtained through the Fall or Spring Graduate Blitz)

(*Documents submitted through ATCAS will not need to be re-submitted to the Graduate School, however, students that do not submit a transcript to ATCAS with degree conferral will need to submit the final transcript to the EKU Graduate School upon graduation for clear admission beyond the first summer session.)

Additionally, students enrolling in classes will need to submit materials as a part of the program and the clinical education experience requirements. Currently, we are in the process of changing the system to which these documents will be uploaded and instructions on uploading this information will be sent out students enrolled in the program close to the Summer 2019 start date. The following materials are required:

  • Criminal Background Check as required by the College of Health Sciences
  • Student Agreement Form demonstrating intent to comply with the MS in AT Program’s policies and procedures as listed in the MS in AT Student Handbook
  • Technical Standards Form
  • HIPAA, FERPA, and Notice of Confidentiality Form completed and signed electronically
  • Completion of a medical physical exam using our AT program form.
  • List and upload proof of immunizations (Varicella Titer or Vaccination, Rubella, Mumps, Hepatitis B or the declination form, tetanus, tuberculosis*, influenza vaccine** or declination form). (*students should wait to get the 2-Step TB screen until during the summer to make sure it doesn't expire during the school year, **Influenza vaccine will be required each fall as flu season starts).
  • CPR Certification* (*this will be conducted during the first summer session as a supplement to class to ensure certification throughout the remainder of the program. Students wanting to get this in advance, may; however, CPR certificates must be American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer. Any certifications that expire while in the program must be renewed to continue clinical experiences.)

Furthermore, EKU’s MS in AT program values professionalism and strives to instill these values in students associated with the program. Adherence to professional standards and professional involvement are key to professionalism and, therefore, following admission into the MS in AT Program and prior to the first practicum course, students will be required to become members of the NATA. Students will be responsible for any associated costs with this process and will be required to provide proof of active membership while matriculating through the program. Professionalism is also demonstrated through compliance with the EKU AT Program's Clinical Attire Policy (*see Student Handbook). Cost associated with ordering clinical attire to include polos, rain gear, a sweatshirt, and a medical pack are outlined on the MS in AT Tuition, Fees & Program Costs webpage. Clothing orders will be placed at the beginning of the Summer session.

*Any questions regarding the admission application process can be directed to the program director, Dr. Matthew Sabin (matthew.sabin@eku.edu).
