Athletic Training Student Shelby Davis Poster Presentation at CHS Scholar's Day Won 2016 Excellence in Research Faculty Award
Shebly Davis's Poster Presentation titled: "Putting the Athletic back in Trainer" Won the Excellence in Scholarship award at the 2016 College of Health Sciences Scholarship Day. Shelby's Poster was 1 of 129 total posters from seven departments in the College that were presented. Highlighting the day's program was keynote speaker Dr. David Dyjack, Executive Director of the National Environmental Health Association, who spoke on "charting a course to further advance and elevate the environmental health arena both nationally and globally."
Shelby worked with Dr. Michael Lane, the Department of Exercise and Sport Science's Clinical Exercise Physiologist to conducted her study to determine the variables that negatively affect the exercise habits of undergraduate athletic training students. "Shelby is an excellent student who continues to excel in both the didactic and clinical portion of the Athletic Training Program at Eastern Kentucky University. Shelby has attended several athletic training conferences this past year demonstrating her willingness to go beyond the classroom and take full advantage of opportunities offered as part of the athletic training program for students", according to Dr. Fuchs, the AT Program Director.
